My paintings are not visual stories. What you are seeing is my temperament.
My work leans on the edge of abstraction, suggesting deconstructed representation.
This series of spatial paintings did not come from my direct experience, yet these are places I am intimately familiar with and know well. These works developed on an organic level and came from a deep place within me. I worked from a “memory” of something never experienced.
I feel that my paintings are about space filled with surface tensions, with one thing playing off the other.
Ginger Marshall is a New York City-based artist and is part of an emerging group of artists who draw from the principals of post-modern painting, incorporating a diverse range of mediums and disciplines to create an exciting new abstract language.
